This software is designed to help you easily create head designs for string instruments. Based on the dimensions you provide, it automatically generates a head design that you can freely modify into various shapes. Once your design is complete, you can simply print it out to make a physical head template.
Summary
The tool uses logarithmic spirals and clothoid curves to shape the instrument's head, which includes the scroll and the pegbox. Specifically, it applies modified logarithmic spirals to the scroll area, allowing you to individually adjust the sizes of the first, second, and third inner scrolls. For the pegbox and other parts, the software utilizes multi-clothoid curves for smooth and precise lines.
Additionally, you can upload photos to view while you work. This makes it very convenient to recreate an existing instrument or use it as inspiration for a brand-new design. When you are finished, you can save your work as a PDF, DXF, or TXT file. You can easily print the DXF file to craft your head template. For your convenience, the software also supports exporting and importing your custom settings.
